At Christmas, we are filled with thoughts of our families, relatives, and friends – a time of the year we can finally sit down and recall the many blessings we receive. Christmas, after all, is a season between thanksgiving and the fresh beginnings of the New Year. We take this time to reflect on the year that has passed and to look forward to the year ahead with much hope and confidence.
Needless to say, I am grateful for the continued support extended to me as I carry out, in the best way I can, the responsibilities to serve you as President of PHA. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my greetings and thanks to those who tirelessly give of themselves for the PHA even through the tough times. I am positive that we will hurdle the challenges because we work together towards one common goal.
We are all aware of the many unfortunate events that happened in 2013 and many of us would be thinking of close friends and loved ones whom we have lost. I know that there are some of us who are dealing with uncertainties amidst their pain and loss. I pray that we keep the faith strong that there is a future more certain and brighter and we only need to approach it with hope, prayers and perseverance.
Without a doubt, I count PHA and you as a big part of my blessings. I am grateful for the support from my fellow members, but above all, I am grateful to God in all things. Let us begin 2014 with renewed commitments and a new heart of service to our benevolent mission.
May your light shine with moments of love, peace, laughter, and goodwill this season. May the year ahead be filled with contentment, care, and joy. May the Good Lord bless you all and may all of us have a happy Christmas!
Eugene B. Reyes, MD
