DO YOU READ OR PERFORM ECHOCARDIOGRAMS? ARE YOU AFFILIATED WITH A CARDIAC LABORATORY? If your answer is YES, then this survey is for YOU.

As a testament to its thrust to elevate the quality of cardiovascular care in the country, the Philippine Heart Association is collaborating with the Philippine Society of Echocardiography on its latest initiative, "The 1st Philippine Echocardiography Survey." Through this nationwide survey of cardiovascular laboratories, echocardiographers and sonographers, we hope to achieve the following objectives:
• Provide current and relevant baseline data regarding the echocardiography services in the country
• Generate awareness regarding the equity and quality of echocardiography services in the country
• Identify existing gaps in healthcare services
• Provide a continuing database for policy-making, research and advocacy
The fulfilment of the above-mentioned objectives will help healthcare personnel find the answers to some of the most basic yet practical questions regarding echocardiography: "How many echo laboratories do we currently have? Are the laboratories understaffed? Where are these laboratories located? Do some areas of the country have little or no access to quality echo services? What challenges do laboratories face in the course of their operations? Are the personnel in charge of performing and interpreting echo studies competent and well-updated regarding their field? How can we improve the way we care for our patients?
